The opening day of the 2009/10 Glo Premier league registered shocking results, with defeats to defending champions, Hearts of Oak and King Faisal.
League Champions Accra Hearts of Oak were trounced by 2 goals to nil by in-form Heart of Lions at the Kpando Sports Stadium.
Two goals in each half from Kofi Nti Boakye and Samuel Yeboah meant the Lions will translate their dominance in preseason and supremacy over Hearts of Oak, having beaten the champions back-to-back in the Top4 tournament.
Former Kotoko coach, Herbert Addo now with Aduana Stars started on good note drawing 1-1 with Berekum Arsenals at in their own fortress, the Golden city park.
Kessben FC secured a vital 2-1 away victory to King Faisal whilst a Daniel Asamoah penalty kick ensured Ashgold's three maximum points against Beechem Chelsea in Obuasi.
Sekondi Eleven Wise and Wa All Stars shared the spoils with a 1-1 scoreline at the Sekondi Gyandu Park, whilst Hasaacas drew goalless with RTU in Tamale.
The match between New Edubiase and Liberty Professionals has been postponed.
