A team of security men from the Customs Excise and Preventive Services (CEPS) have pulled down illegal structures at the airport near the CEPS barracks. The metal containers and kiosks belong to wives and relatives of CEPS officers who have turned the area into a market, trading in all kinds of food items and services. But, according to the CEPS authorities it is not appropriate to allow such developments around the barracks.Today’s exercise follows a two month ultimatum for owners of the structures to voluntarily remove them. Some of the affected persons who spoke to Joy News said there was nothing by way of notice to them prior to the demolition but CEPS officials have dismissed the accusations.Source: Joy News/Myjoyonline.com
