The Anlo Youth Association has conferred the Grand Honour of the Star of the Anlo State on the acting Awoamefia and President of the Anlo Traditional Council, Togbui Sri III, for his invaluable contributions to the development of the Anlo State.
At a grant durbar at Anloga on Tuesday the General Secretary of the Association, Pius Attise in a citation said, “On this special occasion of the Christmas and New Year season, the Executive Council and the Board of Directors of the Anlo Youth Association for Development Foundation wish to present this award to your Royal Highness, Regent Togbui Sri III.”
The citation described Togbui Sri as “showing the inspirational and sterling qualities of a great leader of the Anlo State”.
“Your tremendous popularity with the youth, the chiefs and elders of Anlo has made you the most eligible person for the enviable position you now occupy,” it said.
It described Togbui Sri as employing intelligence, ingenuity, boldness and natural affection and genuine public spiritedness since accepting the challenge to occupy the high office of Regent of the Awoamefia Stool (Fiadomegatala) of Anlo.
“You have restored the Anlo Hogbetsotso celebration from dormancy, reunited divisions of some areas which broke away from the Anlo territory, toured all the 11 divisions of Anlo, making peace, reconciliation and promoting economic stability and progress and also instituting the Awoamefia Hogbe Trust Fund to accelerate the social and economic development of the area,” it said.
“For these reasons, the Grand Honour of the Star of Anlo for great accomplishment has been conferred on you by the youth of the Anlo State,” it added.
Togbui Sri III on his part dedicated the honour to the chiefs and citizens of Anlo for their co-operation and good work.
