Matchday 21 of the league sees a top of the table clash as league leaders Ashantigold and Aduana stars battle out for supremacy.

Depending on the outcome of the game, the Miners could see their lead at the top extended to seven points, reduced to five with a draw or  whittled down to just two points with a loss.

 The Obuasi side have been in scintillating form at home raking eight victories, scoring eighteen in the process averaging 1.8 goals per games while Aduana have a solitary win away from home scoring just five in the process.

The corresponding fixture ended 1-0 in favour of Aduana at Dormaa in March and a repeat of their 2012 feet in Obuasi where the won by the same margin has not been ruled out.

Coach Bashiru Hayford’s side will be looking for a repeat performance as they seek to tighten their grip at the top of the league.

But they may have to do without their eight goal striker Yakubu Mohammed who is rumored to have signed for a Saudi Club. Despite this, Ashantigold still have much firepower upfront with the likes of Didier Kore and Bernard Morrison to provide the needed ammunition. 

Aduana have based their success this season on building a strong foundation in defence and will be holding that as their trump card heading into this game. 

The 2009 league champions on the road this season have conceded sixteen in ten matches which averages 1.6 goals conceded per game while their scoring record has been far from impressive scoring five in ten which averages 0.5 goals scored per game on the road. 

But as connoisseurs always predict in top of table clashes, the form guide and statistics are always thrown aside as the team with the right tactical approach and mental fortitude almost always carries the day.

The fixture promises to be a cagey one but with both team’s records, a goal or two will settle the day. Will it be the Black and Yellow of Ashantigold as they look to end their trophy drought or will it be the Brong Ahafo side as the seek their second league title in six years?
