Pupils and teachers of Careguide Montessori School, Gbawe, on Tuesday paid an excursion visit to Churcheese, a restaurant and playplace located in Labone, Accra.
The excursion was to offer the pupils an educational view of the activities of the restaurant and the children’s play centre, and also to entertain the pupils.
The pupils numbering about 120 and accompanied by five teachers were taken on a guided tour around the premises. They were taken to the Reception, Gift shop, Restaurant, Bouncing Castle and Games Room. After the tour, the pupils were treated to a party.
The Head Mistress of the school, Madam Grace Lamptey in an interview with Myjoyonline.com after the tour said it was really important for the pupils to be treated to such educational tours since it forms part of their practical training and learning activities.
“Once a while, the children must be taken out to explore things. The pupils will create a ‘scrap book’ to put down their experience and what they discovered at this place and on the trip,” she said.
She added that this was not the first time the school was embarking on such a tour; they earlier went to the Air Force Base at the Burma Camp to acquaint themselves with the activities there.
