Accra Hearts of Oak held Medeama SC to a goalless draw at the T & A park in their Elite Cup match on Wednesday.
The Phobians played quiet a decent game at a tough venue with some string of passes, ball working and holding of possession considerably well in a bid to pacify their fans following the disheartened run of form in the premier league.
Hearts made few incursions in the first half but to futility while the home side were trying to get into their tempo.
The decisions of both coaches to rest key players ahead of their Sunday's FA Cup semi final afforded benched players to be warmed and assessed.
While those intentions were good for Tom Strand and Herbert Addo for Medeama and Hearts respectively, the fans were denied the excitement the encounter presupposed.
Goalkeeper Mutawakilu Seidu made a good save with a parry to a goal bound header from Bismark Oppong.
Both teams maintained the same tactics in the second half and Hearts saw more ball in the early stages.
Isaac Mensah and Fovi Aguidi made double attempt at goal but were denied by goalie Ansah Fofro before Eric Kumi had his rebound blocked.
Benjamin Bature had a great opportunity to win the match for Medeama but chipped over his finish after chancing on a back pass.
