Information reaching Myjoyonline indicates that the police would re-arrest the four soldiers recently arrested in connection with the murder of the former Deputy Managing Director of the Ghana Commercial Bank, Rokko Frempong.
They were released Tuesday following the orders of the Human Rights Court, presided by Justice Irene Dankwa which decided that they had been kept unduly.
A fifth suspect, who was in custody but was without legal representation at the previous sitting and therefore could not be heard, also benefited from the ruling following the Bureau of National Investigations' desire not to keep him in custody, taking a cue from the court's decision.
Sources at the Attorney General’s office say the suspects; Sergeants Michael Arthur and Richard Somuah as well as Corporal Charles Ankomah and Emmanuel Antwi would be re-arrested and processed for court again to seek their proper custody.
The suspects were arrested by the military police and handed over to the BNI pending their prosecution. But their wives went to court demanding their release on the grounds that they were unlawfully kept.
Rokko Frimpong was gunned down at his house at Sakumono near Tema in July 2007, by unidentified men thought to have gotten away in a getaway car.
