Rennes are reportedly preparing a new bid to land striker Majeed Waris after seeing an initial offer rebuffed.
The French Ligue 1 outfit are in the market in search for an extra forward despite acquiring Giovanni Sio from FC Basel.
Waris’ performance in a six-month loan spell at Valenciennes prior to the 2014 World Cup is said to have convinced Rennes to pursue his services and are reportedly said to have offered €4million to land his signature from Turkish side Trabzonspor.
According to LeSport10, Trabzonspor rejected the offer insisting the Ghana international will be available for €6 million – same amount used to purchase Waris from Russia’s Spartak Moscow late last summer.
The 22-year-old struggled for playing time and only managed to score four goals last season. He is also said to have attracted interest from clubs in China and the United Arab Emirates.
