The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Kwabena Agyepong is accusing flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo and other executives of the party of sidelining him in the ongoing “Rise and Build Tour.”
The NPP began the tour last week in the Volta region as part of plans to win support for the party ahead of the 2016 elections.
There have been questions over the absence of the chairman Paul Afoko and the general secretary.
Speaking on Accra-based radio station OK FM today, Mr Agyepong said he only read about the tour on the internet, a statement issued by Nana Akufo-Addo’s press secretary, Eugene Arhin.
Though he claimed he had discussions with the flagbearer on the need to start the tour from the Volta Region, no date was determined.
He said he even suggested that Akufo-Addo spends at least two weeks in the region to ensure that every nook and cranny is covered.

Akufo-Addo is being accompanied on the tour by his running mate Dr. Bawumia and other party big wigs
He appeared livid that an impression is being created that he intentionally abandoned the tour to cool off abroad.
“It’s not fair,” Mr. Agyapong cried, saying there are “clear orchestrated efforts” to project him as some who wants to pull down the flagbearer.
The General Secretary said he even tried to “synchronise” his programmes with that of the flagbearer to ensure that the party wins the 2016 elections.
He enumerated a number of events including a recent press conference where claimed that he and the national chairman Paul Afoko were not properly bried about the content.
“I have to say it for Ghanaians to know what I am going through,” he said, and questioned the sin he has committed to be treated that way by the party.
