Dr. Okechy Gilbert, Chairman of the Nigerian community in the Volta Region has warned that Nigerians found engaged in crime and other nefarious activities would be exposed.
Dr. Okechy was speaking at a ceremony organised by the All Nigerian Community in the Volta Region to induct patrons and executives and also commemorate Nigeria's 46th Independence Day.
He said all Nigerians resident in the region were expected to register with the association and promised that branches of the association would be formed in all the districts by the end of 2007.
At the same ceremony, a Nigerian diplomat in Ghana lauded the growing economic ties between the two countries as evidenced by the number of Nigerian banks and other businesses incorporating in Ghana.
Mr. Salihu Umaru Ahmed, Senior Minister at the High Commission in Accra who represented Dr Olatunji Kolapo, Nigeria's High Commissioner to Ghana observed that, Ghana and Nigeria were culturally linked and presently collaborate in ensuring peace in the sub region and on the international scene.
The Diplomat said the sweeping anti-corruption drive in Nigeria would continue alongside other policies to streamline the economy.
He said the calibre of people already being investigated should give an indication to all that the drive against corruption would be unrelenting and that there would be no untouchables.
Mr. Kofi Dzamesi, Volta Regional Minister urged Nigerians to take advantage of the good investment climate in Ghana to invest.
He called on citizens of the two countries to build on the cordiality their forbears had bequeathed them by increasing cooperation in all areas.
Captain George Nfodjo (rtd), Member of Parliament for Ho Central praised the industry of Nigerians but called for the censorship of Nigerian films circulating in Ghana.
