Former President Rawlings has returned to his fire-ravaged Ridge residence after spending the night at an undisclosed location.
The former president’s house was gutted by fire in the early hours of Sunday.
While an electrical fault is suspected to have causedthe fire, a full investigation has been launched to find the cause.
The fire destroyed the entire building and all its contents, leaving only its brick frame.
Meanwhile President Mills has instructed the Chief of Staff to immediately look for temporary accommodation to house former President Rawlings.
President Mills issued the instructions after visiting the scene of the fire to ascertain the damage firsthand and to also commiserate with the former first family.
A statement signed by Deputy Information Minister Samuel Okudzeto, says the President has also tasked the Chief of Staff to ensure that investigations are carried out to ascertain the cause of the fire.
Seth Kwame Boateng was one of two journalists to first get to the scene when the fire started yesterday.
