The former head of communications of the Convention People's Party (CPP) Nii Armah Akomfrah has been elected General Secretary of the party.
At a Congress held in Sunyani yesterday to elect new executives, Nii Akomfrah polled 808 votes to beat his closest contender James Kwabena Bomfeh.
Bomfeh popularly called Kabila polled 698 with the third candidate Kwasi Dedey polling 467.
For the Vice Chairmanship slot, Hajia Hamdata Haruna and Susana Amannkwaa polled 551 and 467 votes respectively to become the first and second vice chair respectively. Alhaji Tijani Rahman also polled 287 to become the third vice chair.
For the National Organiser position Emmanuel Ogbajor polled 762 ahead of Rashid Alao who polled 748. Appiah Amankwaa also 453.
Ernesto Yeboah polled 878 to beat James Tetteh and Bosompem Boateng who both polled 578 and 504 respectively.
Isha Sule Fota polled an overwhelming 1025 to beat Anita Harriet Abaidoo who polled 946 for the Women's Organiser slot.
Ethro Gordon was also elected as Treasurer with 1142 votes with Adulf Luttrok polling 807.
The over 2000 delegates early on affirmed Prof Edmund Delle who was the sole contender for the position.
Immediate past chairman of the party Samia Nkrumah said the party is ready to win power in 2016.
She hoped the newly elected executives and Ghanaians as a whole will rally behind the ideals of Dr Kwame Nkrumah to ensure the development of the country.
