There was near confrontation between supporters of two parliamentary aspirants vying to contest the Ahafo Ano South East Constituency primary on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.
Supporters of Kojo Antwi did not understand why Chris Boadi had to be cleared to contest when a petition against him had not been fully examined.
A third contestant in the primary is the District Chief Executive of the Ahafo Ano South Gabriel Barima, famously known as the Tweaa DCE.
According to Luv FM's Erastus Asare Donkor the Constituency Deputy Organiser Moro Ibrahim had filed a petition against Mr Boadi claiming he was not known to the constituency and must be disqualified.
He expected the vetting committee to have invited him to substantiate his claims but the committee did not and went ahead to clear Mr Boadi to contest.
That did not go down well with Ibrahim as well as supporters of Kojo Antwi.
Ibrahim said Boadi came out from the vetting committee to threaten him that his supporters will deal him, a threat supporters of Kojo Antwi did not take kindly to.
After lots of verbal exchanges calm finally returned. But Moro Ibrahim has vowed to pursue the case at the court.
He is threatening to apply for an injunction to stop the constituency from proceeding with the election until his grievances are attended to.
Elsewhere there have been disqualifications at the Sekyere Afram Plains and and Adansi Fomena constituencies in Ashanti Region, Asare Donkor reported.
He said Kwasi Gumanga was disqualified from contesting the Sekyere Afram Plains constituency after he was accused by the vetting committee of faking the party's card.
Jerry John Appiah Felix was also stopped from contesting the Sekyere Afram Plains constituency over misconduct.
Asare Donkor said supporters of the disqualified candidates are up in arms protesting the decision by the vetting committee.
