Head pastor of the Holy Fire Pentecostal Church at Goaso in the Brong Ahafo Region is under police investigations for sexually assaulting some women in his church.
Ogya Nyame, under the pretence of providing spiritual healing to his lady congregants, is said to have fondled their breasts and engaged in all kinds of sexual escapades with them to satisfy his libido.
Confirming the incident to Joy News, Nana Atta Poku, secretary to the Omanhene, said the pastor was invited to the traditional council to answer questions on the many sexual allegations made against him.
He said the horrifying stories told by the victims of the pastor’s alleged sexual acts informed their decision to draft in the police for further investigations.
In one of those stories, the wife of an elder of the church suffering from rashes on parts of her body including, her buttocks, was said to have sought spiritual fortification from the head pastor.
Ogya Nyame obliged and confined the victim to his house where the prayer was supposed to take place.
In the middle of the prayers, the pastor in his bid to “examine” the rashes allegedly removed his penis and attempted to penetrate the victim, Nana Poku narrated.
He said that appeared to be an attempted rape, which the council thought was criminal and decided to invite the police.
The Municipal Police Commander of the area Emmanuel Yirenkyi also confirmed the incident but said investigations were underway.
He also said the police are looking for some youth in the area who on a vandalized items in the church premises.
Meanwhile, the pastor has denied the allegations. He said they are intended to malign his integrity.
