The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is considering postponing the upcoming primaries to elect parliamentary candidates scheduled for November 7.
Joy News has gathered that the party may reschedule the exercise to November 21, 2015.
Director of Elections of the party Samuel Ofosu Ampofo says the party will have to get approval from National Executive Committee on the proposed November 21 date.
“We do not have the power to alter the date. I believe activities are being monitored and if there is a need for a change [in date] an emergency NEC meeting would be called,” he said.
Some members of the party are concerned the biometric register to be used in the exercise is bloated.
Some party members including MPs have also expressed concern that their names are missing from the register.
