A 19-year old Junior High School student shocked court officials and audience when he revealed he shares booty from his robbery acttivity with an elderly man who gave him a locally manufactured gun.Stephen Kusi Boateng of Tanoso Anglican Junior High School was remanded into prison custody on his first appearance.He allegedly shot but missed a pastor after breaking into his house at Atwima-Techiman to steal household appliances and an amount of GHc60.Police say Boateng, armed with a local pistol on March 19, broke into the house of a pastor and farmer at Atwima Techiman in their absence
and stole household appliances.Boateng, also known as Kofi Anabila, took away 60 Ghana cedis but was confronted by the pastor in an attempt to run from the scene.He then fired into the ceiling to scare the complainants and attempted to climb a ceiling for safety when he was prevented by the pastor.Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Owusu-Manu, said Boateng fired at his victim as he attempted to prevent him from climbing the ceiling but missed him narrowly.The police patrol team was called in and he was later arrested.A search on him, however, revealed he had in his posession a locally manufactured pistol, and three each of spent and unused lived cartridges.Prosecution appealed to the court presided by Mr Adjei Frimpong to allow the matter to be sent to the Attorney General’s Department for advise.Meanwhile, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of one Akwasi who supplied the teenager with the amunitions before court resumes hearing on 13th of next month.Story by Nhyira Fm's Ohemeng Tawiah
