As the Basic Education Certificate Examinations continue, Deputy Minister for Education, Dr Joseph Samuel Annan has expressed optimism that this year’s placement of BECE students in Senior High and Technical schools will see a vast improvement because of a new software in operation. He says the new software for the computerized placement system is faster and more reliable. Dr. Joseph Annan told Joy News interest groups in education have put in a lot of efforts to ensure the system is better and free of controversy. The implementation of the Computer School Selection Placement System (CSSPS) has been dogged with controversies as parents battle education authorities yearly, sometimes over questionable placements where students are offered schools that do not run their chosen courses. In other instances, a large number of students thought to have qualified for placement have been left out of the selection process. Listen to the Deputy Minister in the attached audio
