The Foreign Affairs Ministry has outlined a timetable for the issuance of biometric passports to ease congestion at the Passport Office. Below is a detail of the timetable Time table for the issuance of biometric passports The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration wishes to assure the Ghanaian public that the Ministry is working around the clock to complete the installation of additional data capturing equipment in the other designated centres in order to ease the congestion at the Passport Office and make it very easy for applicants to acquire biometric passports. In the meantime, the Ministry wishes to announce temporary measures that will help reduce the inconvenience and anxiety being caused to some members of the public. With effects from Monday, 19th April, 2010 and until further notice, the Passport Office shall process applications for Biometric Passports in accordance with the following time table: MONDAY 8.00 a.m. – 12.30 pm. - Applicants born in the three Northern Regions (Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions) 1.30 p.m. – 6.30 pm - Ministers and other top Government Officials and Heads of Departments, MPs, Business Executives (Emergency/ Expedited Applications) TUESDAY 8.00 a.m. – 12.30 pm. - Applicants born in the Brong Ahafo, Volta Regions 1.30 p.m. – 6.30 pm - Public Servants: Ghana Missions Abroad (Emergency/ Expedited Applications) WEDNESDAY 8.00 a.m. – 12.30 pm. - Applicants born in the Ashanti and Western Regions 1.30 p.m. – 6.30 pm - Business Executives, Religious Leaders, Journalists, Lecturers, Ghanaians living abroad THURSDAY 8.00 a.m. – 12.30 pm. - Applicants born in the Eastern and Central Regions 1.30 p.m. – 6.30 pm - Public Servants; Legal Profession; Banking and Insurance Industry Officials FRIDAY 8.00 a.m. – 12.30 pm. - Applicants born in the Greater Accra Region 1.30 p.m. – 6.30 pm - Applicants born in the Greater Accra Region Source: myjoyonline.com/Ghana
