An electronic technician who allegedly had sexual intercourse with his 12-year-old daughter on a number of occasions, was on Tuesday remanded in prison custody by the Asamankese Circuit Court.
Kwaku Koranteng pleaded not guilty to incest and would reappear on May 17.
Detective Police Inspector F.K. Yeboa, prosecuting, told the court that the class four girl was violated by her father while staying with him at Sowatey New Town.
He said at about 0700 hours on December 12, last year, the father, invited the victim into his room and asked her to remove her underwear for him to see if she had grown pubic hair over her sexual organ.
The daughter refused to do so but her father forced and removed the pant and used his fingers to browse her sexual organ.
The prosecutor said Koranteng then ordered the victim to go to bed and he followed up and told her that he was going to do something with her and warned her that she would kill her if she ever discloses it to anyone.
He said Koranteng then forcibly had sexual intercourse with the girl who bled profusely following the breaking of her hymen.
Inspector Yeboa said despite the pain the girl was suffering from, his father continued to have sex with her on daily basis, compelling her to inform her mother on phone.
The mother who lived at Nungua in Accra, rushed to Sowatey and accompanied by relatives reported the matter to the police.
When Koranteng heard that the matter had been reported, he escaped from the town until he was apprehended from his hideout on April 26.Source: GNA
