A 20-year old labourer, Solomon Ankrah, was on Tuesday sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for robbing two people and causing harm to one of them.
He pleaded guilty to the charges.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mary Linda Agbozo told the court, presided over by Mrs Laurenda Owusu, that at about 1230 hours on May 2, the victim was returning from a musical programme in the company of a witness when the convict spotted them.
He robbed them of their two mobile phones valued at GH¢235, a digital camera worth GH¢500 and a cash of GH¢18.
ASP Agbozo said the convict also inflicted cutlass wounds on one the victim and run away with the items.
The victim reported the incident to the police and was rushed to the Tema General Hospital where he was admitted.
ASP Agbozo said, after the robbery, the convict left the two phones in the room of one David Osei who lived in the same area with the victim.
According to the prosecutor, Osei, who saw the victim's picture on the camera, informed his relatives.
This led to the arrest of the convict.
The convict, who admitted the offense, led the Police to Osei's room to retrieve the items.
