Afrikandrum Entertainment, a subsidiary of the Benedict Foundation established in 1997, is organising a reality show to unearth young talents into its fold.
The show which will be in the form of an auditioning, will give the youth an opportunity to host a number of television shows to be rollout starting with ‘King of the Mic’.
Speaking to Myjoyonline.com, Kofi Yeboah, C.E.O. of Afrikandrum Entertainment said the reality show and the auditioning for presenters is to give youths across Africa an opportunity to let the world see their talent.
“I have developed the ‘King of the Mic’ reality show for millions of youths across Africa who have the desire to perform and sing to be able to do so. Those who want to present or host shows are also not left out, they will get the opportunity to host the numerous shows we are coming up with.”
The show he said is starting from Ghana and it will later be replicated in other African countries. He added that, ‘King of the Mic’ is the first urban hip hop show to hit the shores of Africa.
Ultimate winners (20+) will get the opportunity to host ‘King of the Mic’ currently running on a pilot from the stables of Afrikandrum Entertainment. It is expected to hit the television screens shortly.
The audition will take place at King Solomon in Dansoman from May 7 to May 9 and organisers say interested persons will need to pick up forms at Afrikandrum Entertainment, or call 0202929404.
