Government has paid glowing tribute in memory of the late Nigerian President Omaru Yar’Adua. Deputy Information Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa told sit-in host of Joy FM's Super Morning Show host Evans Mensah, the late president was “fair” and “just” in his dealings with his “anti corruption agenda unwavering.” Yar’Adua, 58, passed away Wednesday after protracted illness. The Nigerian government has announced seven days of national mourning and said the president would be buried on Thursday. Ahead of his burial ceremony, dozens of sympathizers have expressed profound goodwill to celebrate the deeds of the late president of Nigeria Omaru Yar’Adua whose political career has rather been cut short by illness. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said the Ghanaian government is “sorrowed” by the colossal loss, and touted the good working relations between the late President and President John Mills of Ghana. He said Yar’Adua was perceived as a “puppet” of ex-president Obasanjo but proved critics wrong with his independent mindedness and courage to scrutinize all contracts entered into by the previous government.
