Police in the Northern Region have arrested one person and are hunting for four others who are said to be ring leaders of an angry youth that vandalised the Metropolis on Wednesday.
The irate youth, believed to be members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) stormed the community called Sakasaka destroying billboards and other valuables belonging to Minister of Roads and Highways Alhaji Inusah Fuseini.
The angry youth say Inusah Fuseini should not have contested Alhaji Ibrahim Seidu in the recent NDC primary won by the former.
Northern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah, had told Joy News Thursday police were closing in on five of the ring leaders who have gone into hiding.
“We are looking for them,” he said.
He said the ring leaders would be arrested for disturbing the peace and causing damage to property.
Meanwhile, a combined team of police and military forces are patrolling the community.
