Joy FM has presented an extra cash to a 39-year-old widow, whose plight caught the attention of a Joy FM reporter.
Matilda Lamptey, who is a mother of six, has been struggling to put her children through school after the death of his husband some two years ago.
A crusade to ameliorate the plight of the widow yielded dividend as listeners of Joy FM and organisations contributed an amount of GH¢4,500 which was presented to her.
On Tuesday the Human Resources manager at Joy FM, Tina Nahyi, made an extra donation of GH¢1,000 being the presentation on behalf of the station, bringing the total amount to GH¢5,500.
She advised Ms Lamptey to put the money to good use and to take good care of her children.
The widow was content and excited with the donation and traded a broad lavish smile as she received the cash donation.
She promised to save half of the amount and invest the rest.
