The President of the Ashanti Region branch of the Ghana Journalists Association has condemned the hasty manner in which police in Kumasi arrested a radio commentator for insulting President Mills.Nana Yaw Osei said the arrest was wrong.Adu Gyamfi, popularly known as ‘High Priest’, is said to have referred to President Mills as a chimpanzee during a discussion on Fox FM.Personnel of the Police Buffalo Unit had to whisk him away when angry National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters besieged the premises of the station, apparently to attack him. However, Ashanti Regional chairman of the GJA Nana Yaw Osei says the national media commission is the best institution to investigate the issue.Meanwhile Adu Gyamfi has been granted bail and is expected to report to the Ashanti Regional Police on Wednesday. He is under investigation for “offensive conduct” and could face charges if found culpable.Play attached audio for a report filed by Luv FM’s Ohemeng TawiahSource: Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
