Four persons have been confirmed dead while nine others are in critical condition after the Ford bus on which they were travelling ran into an cargo truck at Omenako near Suhum.The injured are on admission at the Suhum Government Hospital in the Eastern Region.Among the dead is a man suspected to be a civilain employee of the Ghana Armed Forces, according to eye-witnesses, who also point accusing fingers at the driver of the American Ford bus with registration number AW 3393 Z as being the cause of the accident.Omenase is on the Suhum - Apedwa road along the Accra - Kumasi highway, and eyewitnesses told Myjoyonline.com the driver of the Ford bus was attempting to overtake another vehicle on the steep slope when he ran into the cargo truck with registration number GT 6100 B.The scene of the fatal accident is also the site of ongoing road construction works.Head of Police Public Affairs Directorate, DSP Kwesi Fori, who confirmed the accident and the deaths to Myjoyonline.com, said the victims who were all on the Ford bus, were yet to be identified.Kwesi Fori who personally visited the accident scene and victims at the hospital, said the Suhum District Police Command were managing the situation, including a heavy vehicular traffic that had built on either side of the road.He also cautioned drivers to exercise patience on the roads, explaining that zones for construction works are no go areas for speeding.Story by Isaac Yeboah/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
