Customers of struggling microfinance company, DKM, are scrambling for the company’s properties after securing a court order to sell the properties to recover their deposits.
The customers are packing out all movables at the headquarters of DKM in Sunyani, Brong Ahafo region.
Joy News has learnt, a similar scramble for assets is going on in DKM branches in Wa, Berekum and Damango.

Some 20 DKM branded buses and pick-ups have been impounded since it emerged the directors of the company had blewn GH₵113 million in deposits, leaving GH₵10.7 million in the company's accounts.
In what has become a clear case of a Ponzi scheme, DKM promised to double deposits but failed to not only live up to this pledge but also squandered deposits on the managers' personal businesses.
CEO of the struggling company, Mr. Martin Delle, was arrested but has been granted bail. The court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh granted Martin K Delle bail in the sum of GHC 80 million with four sureties, two to be justified.
It also ordered Delle to make a security deposit of GHC6 million. The case has been adjourned to February 1 as the Bureau of National Investigations continue their investigations.
The lawyers of some of the company's clients have tried a new strategy by asking the court to order the sale of DKM's properties to pay off the monies owed.

The impounded properties will be kept by the court, valued and later auctioned. The proceeds will go to affected clients of the microfinance company.
A court bailiff posted about six court notices on the premises of DKM, Joy News' Brong Ahafo regional correspondent Precious Semavoh reported from the Sunyani office which is also going up for sale.
“Different lawyers are packing different things…it is getting nasty”, he said. Disagreements and fights are breaking out while lawyers and their clients try to secure assets.
