On Saturday, January 30, the Heroes Park of the Baba Yara Stadium will come alive as it bubbles with activities amid fun, as the Luv FM Fitness Walk hits the Garden City.
The first edition of the annual quarterly event for this year, it offers individuals and corporate Kumasi the opportunity to put body and mind in shape for a productive 2016.
The trademark Luv FM Fitness Walk has over the years become a major platform for groups, schools, corporate individuals to exercise, fraternize and explore networking opportunities.
The maiden edition for this year is specifically targeted at burning the fat and calories accumulated in our bodies during the merry- making season last year and through to the New Year.
Already, officials of corporate establishments and para-military institutions have committed to the cause.
“As an investment bank, we believe one’s first wealth in life is health and that is our main reason for coming on board. We are poised for action and the idea is to exercise hard enough to the point of sweating. We can’t wait any longer”. Eugene Grant, an accountant at Prestige Capital Limited explained.
Group Head for the Northern Sector at GT Bank, Pascal Akanlu promised a full participation from the GT Bank staff in the Kumasi Metropolis.
“All of our staff members in Kumasi would be at the Heroes Park to take part in the walk and we deem this very important because our staff members need to stay strong and healthy to face the year. It would also serve as an avenue for us to exhibit our financial packages to walkers” Mr. Akanlu told Luv News.
The annual quarterly health walk is part of Luv FM’s bouquet of events to enhance the physical and mental well-being of staff of participating institutions.
At 6:30am prompt, participants will be walking from the Heroes Park at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, through the principal streets in the city and return to the same place for the aerobics.

Participants of the New Year edition will receive free pre and post health screening. There will also be prizes for youngest and oldest walkers and also refreshments from sponsors as well as networking opportunities.
For the attractions, participants can only watch out for surprises, especially, when ace fitness instructor, Dominic Ofori alias Dee, promises to introduce South African dance known as ‘’Bokwa’’ in the ever exciting aerobic session.
‘Bokwa’ is a cardio-licious blend of hip-hop and step aerobics that taps into South African-style dance.
The dance steps are actually based on letters and numbers, not choreography. The movements are in the shape of English-language letters, for example L, J, and C. Once dancers have the steps down, they can jazz it up with extra shimmies,-hip bumps, or other free-styling’ moves. Participants should expect something hilarious as they experience the beauty and simplicity of Boka at the Luv FM Fitness Walk.
