The Parish Priest of Christ the King Parish, Very Reverend Father Andrew Campbell has urged all Ghanaians to be instruments of peace and forgive those who in one way or the other have hurt them.
He said forgiveness is a way of striving forward as a nation.
Rev. Campbell said this at the 28th anniversary remembrance service of three Judges who were abducted and murdered on July 1, 1982.
The three late Judges, Justice Fred Poku Sarkordie, Justice Mrs. Cecelia Koranteng-Addow and Justice Kwadwo Adjei Agyepong and a retired army officer Major Sam K. Acquah were abducted during a curfew hours from their homes and murdered at the Bundase Military Range.
In his sermon, Father Campbell said although it is hard to forgive, it is imperative that we all learn to let go as hatred and anger causes unnecessary anxiety.
He added that, the three judges who were murdered stood for the truth and did not compromise. He further added that, the late judges should be our heroes and all and sundry must follow in their footsteps.
The National President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), Mr. F.W. K. Beecham who read a brief historic background of the judge’s murder, revealed that the bar and the bench have forgiven the wrongdoers for their evil deed and will always remember the good deeds for which the judges were murdered.
