Management of Mechanical Lloyd this week donated medical equipment worth GHC20,000 to the pediatric ward of the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, Takoradi. The equipment included Oxygen Concentrators, Wrist and Finger Oximeters, Patient monitors and Weighing scales.
This donation is in line with its corporate mission, ‘to contribute meaningfully to the welfare of the community in which it operates, and to bring a sense of responsibility to bear on its policies in order to promote what it believes to be in the public interest’.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Kojo Annobil, Sales & Marketing Director, Mechanical Lloyd said that ‘health workers must have well equipped facilities to help them deliver health care in the most effective and efficient manner’. He added that helping Effia Nkwanta Hospital would enable the hospital provide quality healthcare to Western Region.
He indicated Mechanical Lloyd would be available to help the hospital in their future projects and mentioned that the company has undertaken several corporate social responsibility activities in areas such as education, health, water and sanitation to give back to the society.
Dr. Kwaw Ntodzi – Medical Superintendent of Effia Nkwanta Hospital expressed the hospital’s profound gratitude and said the equipment donated will help improve quality of health care for the pediatric ward.
He added that management and staff are doing their best to ensure successful treatment of all cases brought to the hospital in spite of the numerous challenges. He appealed to other companies in Takoradi to also assist the hospital similarly.
Mechanical Lloyd is a fully Ghanaian owned company with its headquarters in Accra- South Industrial Area and branches in Adenta (Accra), Kumasi, Tamale and now Takoradi. It holds franchises for BMW and Ford vehicles as well as Massey Ferguson agricultural tractors and implements.
