The Eye Department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital will be closed for additional construction works from Wednesday, March 9, 2016.
The additional works will see an upgrade of the ventilation and cooling systems, as well as other civil works in the department.
These were contained in a press release signed and issued by the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Mr Mustapha Salifu.
According to him, the work, which is expected to last for three weeks, will ensure the adequate safety of both workers and patients, and further improve the overall work environment.
He seized the opportunity to apologise to the general public for any inconvenience the closure will cause them, and appealed to them to resort to the Police, 37 and Ridge hospitals for care during the period.
“While the inconvenience caused is regrettable, the additional works are part of efforts the hospital is making to improve upon the quality of care it provides,” he reiterated.
