The former first family, former president Jerry John Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings have expressed their deepest condolences to the family of the late Jake Obetsebi Lamptey.
Flt Lt Rawlings and his wife in a statement said the death of the leading figure in advertising was saddening.
They prayed for God’s comfort and peace for the family of the former greater Accra regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr Lamptey died on the dawn of Sunday at a hospital in London after a short illness.
Bryan Acheampong, confidante of Jake Obetsebi Lamptey confirmed the death to Joy News' Francis Abban, Sunday morning.
Mr Lamptey, born on February 4, 1946, was an astute Advertiser and had a rich political history. His father, Mr Obetsebi Lamptey was a member of the big six who delivered Ghana from the shackles and evil claws of colonialism.

MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE – DEMISE OF JAKE OBETSEBI LAMPTEY
We have learnt of the sad demise of Mr Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party and leading figure in the advertising and marketing industry.
Our deepest sympathies go out to his family. May God give you comfort and peace at this difficult moment and may the soul of your beloved Jake rest in peace.
