The deputy Central Regional Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona East in the Central Region has challenged the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to bring out innovative ideas to build the nation rather than relying on the mistakes of the president.
According to Queenstar Pokuaa Sawyerr, it is disingenuous for any political party seeking power to rely on the mistakes of the president by constantly criticizing him without providing any useful alternatives.
She was speaking on behalf of the president at the President’s party for people living with disabilities at Agona East in the Central Region.
“The president is only human. Definitely, he will make mistakes, every President makes mistakes. During the period of John Agyekum Kufuor, we had Kufuor gallons; shortage of water,” she said.
The party fete over 10,000 people living with disabilities in the Central region as part of the President’s Easter package for them.
The minister asked for sober heads as the nation decides who governs the country in the November polls. She emphasized the need for consensus building to provide solutions to the country’s problems.
“Ghana will not burn. The elections are going to be peaceful. We can only play our part to ensure that fairness and firmness become the driving principle towards this election. I am calling for a campaign on issues to avoid confrontations that can dent the credibility of the polls.”
The people living with disabilities were given crutches, wheelchairs and food items to take home after being treated to food and drinks.
