Pressure group Let My Vote Count Alliance is partnering the opposition NPP and other groups to demonstrate against the Electoral Commission in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi Wednesday.
Demonstrators want to draw attention to the potential threat to the security of the nation if the EC goes ahead to use the current voters register in the 2016 general elections.
Coordinator of Let My Vote Count Alliance, David Asante told Joy News the demonstrating groups are unhappy that the EC is yet to announce to Ghanaians a roadmap for the implementation of recommendations by its own panel of experts on voter validation.

The demonstration is dubbed “Baamu Yadda” [“we will not agree"] is aimed at getting the EC to validate the electoral roll as recommended by the Justice VCRAC Crabbe panel.
“The back and forth attitude of the Electoral Commission is affecting the confidence the electorates have in the Commission and I think this is very serious,” David Asante told Joy News Elton Brobbey.
He said EC’s posture makes it clear that it does not intend to carry out records validation for registered voters.
David Asante said the demonstrations will be replicated across the country, until the EC heeds to their demands.
