The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) is set to launch operation 200, 000 votes in the Greater Accra region at its first ever Regioinal Women Congress, Saturday.
According to the Greater Accra Regional Women’s Organizer, Mrs Koiwah Koi-Larbi Ofosuapea, this target is meant to ensure that the party founder, Dr. Papa Kwesi Ndoum emerges the winner at the end of the November 2016 polls.
The first ever Regional Women’s Congress of PPP comes on Saturday, April 23 at the Coconut Groove Regency Hotel in Accra at 9 a.m.
Mrs. Ofosuapea disclosed: “The main goal [of the Congress] is to discuss, deliberate and decide on pragmatic strategies to implement in order to make PPP the government of the day in 2016”.
It will also provide an opportunity for progressive minded women to give their take on the preparation of the Electoral Commission (EC) ahead of the November 2016 polls, she continued.
In attendance are the founder of the party, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom and the National Chairman, Dr. Nii Allotey Brew Hammond.
The others include: representatives of women at the various constituency such as the Constituency Women Organizers, Women Elders and Pioneers of the Party in Greater Accra, Female Parliamentary Candidates in Greater Accra, Progressive Market Leaders and Young Women Representatives of the Progressive Youth Movement (PYM) groups.
