Mr Siki Abibu, the Deputy Volta Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has appealed to party members occupying political positions to emulate the modesty and humility of President John Evans Atta Mills.
He said the people were highly awake and a display of arrogance could drive the party out of power.
Mr Abibu, in an interview, said that arrogance and other negative tendencies drove the New Patriotic Party (NPP) out of power and therefore, appealed to NDC functionaries to guard against those tendencies.
He appealed to people from the Volta Region occupying positions in the party and in the government to work extra hard to redeem the promises made to the people.
Mr Abibu said people of the region and, for that matter, posterity would not forgive the party if their aspirations were not met.
He said there was a glimmer of hope and at end of the government's first term, the people would have seen a change that would be unparalleled in the history of the region and country.
On party youth and grassroots agitations, Mr Abibu suggested to President Mills to institute an independent and scientific investigation into the causes of those agitations.
He said such a fact-finding research could form the basis for correcting the difficulties at the grassroots levels of the party.
