The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) has apologised to chiefs and people in several communities whose untarred road networks were mentioned by the Regional Minister as having been tarred.
The Regional Minister, Mr E.A. Owusu-Ansah in an address to the RCC on December 28, 2006 in Kumasi mentioned the Abono-Adwafo, L'sarb junction-Yabi, Afari-Nerebehi, Beposo-Wioso, Bonwire-Bamang and Atimatim-Buoho roads among others as having been tarred.
Work on the roads was yet to start since they were awarded on contract on November 29, 2006 for bituminous surfacing.
The RCC in a statement signed by the Deputy Coordinating Director, Mr J.M Dasana described the mix-up as mistake in the Minister's address and "regretted the inconvenience and embarrassment that might have been caused to the affected communities".
