The newly appointed commandant of the Ghana Police Command and Staff College (GPCSC), COP/Dr. George Akuffo Dampare is grateful to the Ghana Police Service for his new appointment.
The transfer of the Accra Regional Police Commander, COP George Akuffo Dampare who was appointed six months ago was received with surprise.
Sixteen police chiefs have been transferred with immediate effect as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) makes his third round of changes since he was appointment some seven months ago.
In a press statement Tuesday, he said, "Having worked as the regional commander for a little over half of a year, I received multiple support from diverse fields and sectors which improved security and maintenance of law and order."
He thanked the Police Administration, his colleague officers, the media, civil service organizations, political parties, religious leaders and the entire metropolis for the support he received during his tenure as the Accra Regional Police Commander.
He asked that the same support is given to his successor to keep Accra safe, especially during the upcoming elections.
