Joy News' Northern Regional correspondent, Hashmin Mohammed and Salwa Baba Mahama were united in marriage on Sunday, May 22, 2016, during a 12:30 p.m. outdoor ceremony.
It was all hearty as Hashmin Mohammed introduced Salwa Baba Mahama to friends, family as well as well-wishers as his wife in Tamale. Salwa Baba Mahama is a nurse by profession.

Imams and mallams played their part in accordance with Islamic traditions by offering dua's and several quranic recitations to join the two together as man and wife.
Rare traditional Dagbani dances was displayed to entertain friends and well-wishers.
The ceremony brought Tamale to a standstill as the Tamale Central member of parliament (MP) who is also the Employment and Labour Relations Minister, Haruna Iddrisu was in attendance.

Also, district chief executives and leaders from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), New Patriotic Party (NPP) and other political parties graced the occasion.
The Joy News team led by Martha Crenstil Acquah were there to support their colleague.
