The Ajumako-Enyan -Essiam District is spending GH¢566,185.62 on the construction of a six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Enyan Denkyira, Etsii Bewora, Oboom and Ofabiri, in the Enyan Denkyira Traditional Area.
Mr. Peter Light Koomson, District Chief Executive made this known at a sod-cutting ceremony at Enyan Denkyira for the District Assembly ‘A’ and ‘B’ primary schools.
He said the projects are being funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund.
The Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Atto Forson, said the projects are being executed in fulfilment of the Better Ghana Agenda of the National Democratic Congress.
He said the Denkyira-Mando road would be tarred while senior high schools at Denkyira, Bisease and Mando would each be provided with two-storey dormitory blocks.
Mr. Forson appealed to the traditional council to resolve the long standing chieftaincy dispute in the area to pave way for developmental projects.
The Regent of the area, Nana Otwuaah Apramoah II expressed appreciation to the government for providing the district with the additional classrooms to end the shift system, which had retard educational pursuit of the pupils.
