Telecom giant Zain has rewarded 22 graduating students of the Odumase Presby Junior High Senior for their sterling performance in the 2009 Basic Education Certificate Examinations.
This is the first time in 12-years that all candidates from the school who wrote the BECE obtained good grades that qualify them for placements in Senior High Schools as this year’s pass rate shot up from 43% to 100% after Zain Ghana rebuilt once dilapidated school building into a state-of-the-art edifice.
The graduands received certificates, Zain notepads, T-shirts and dictionaries.
The best male student had in addition a box filled with provisions while the most improved student got books. The school’s head teacher also received internet modems.
The overall best studen, Rosmond Judith Sackitey-Ninye, who had grade 12, was given a box full of provisions and a basket full of books.
She expressed profound gratitude to Zain for providing the graduating class with the opportunity, assistance and exposure that propelled their success and appealed to the telecom giant to continue supporting and monitoring them wherever they go from JHS to ensure “their investment [in the students] does not end here."
