The Wenchi Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Adams has been given the sack for what the executive members described as his insatiable appetite for inflating figures.
The entire executive members of the party passed a vote of no confidence in him after various charges were leveled against him.
The Chairman had subsequently been banned from entering the constituency office of the party and ordered to surrender all party documents in his possession to the Secretary.
A resolution signed by the executive members had since been sent to the party's national headquarters.
According to the executive members, the Chairman's behaviour and activities had led to the party losing members day in and day out, hence the need for the action.
Among the charges against Mr. Adams was that he inflated the amount for the hiring of a constituency office from ¢4 million to ¢12 million.
They contended further that during the Nkoranza North by election, the Chairman hired an Urvan bus and again allegedly inflated the transportation cost from ¢800,000 to ¢2 million, and that an unspecified sum of money given to the executive members to participate in the by-election was pocketed by him alone.
The constituency executive members stated also that when the party flagbearer, Prof Atta, Mills visited Wenchi recently, the Chairman claimed he had spent ¢1 million to host him but that ,turned out to be a big lie.
These charges, coupled with his alleged arrogance, they added, prompted his removal from office.
Speaking in an interview on a local FM station, Royals FM on the issue, the embattled constituency Chairman vehemently denied the allegations, saying his dismissal had emanated from some disgruntled members of the party who simply hated him.
