The Agriculture Development Bank is on an expansion drive aimed at boosting its presence in agro-based communities.As a result, four new branches have been opened in four towns in the Northern region. They are Yendi, Savelugu, Walewale and Navorongo in the Upper East Region.According to the bank’s Board Chair the expansion into the Northern region is to enable its farmers also have access to the assistance and support packages such as the offer of farming equipment it has available.Ibrahim Adams told Joy Business the move is also to support government to boost the region’s agricultural output, especially rice production.He said given the huge number of farmers in the area, it was the bank’s view that the most prudent thing to do was to go closer to the people.He however cautions that the farmers would not be allowed to abuse facilities made available to them.Source: Joy Business/Ghana
