Mr. Lawrence Yirenkyi-Boafo has been confirmed as the substantive Managing Director of The Trust Bank (TTB) effective, October 20, 2010.
In a press release signed by the bank's head of Marketing & Corporate Affairs, Mr.Kasser Tee, the decision was announced by the Board of Directors at the its 51st meeting held on Wednesday October 20, 2010 at the bank’s Head Office, located at Reinsurance House, 68 Kwame Nkrumah Avenue, Adabraka in Accra.
Mr. Yirenkyi-Boafo who has over seventeen (17) years of middle to top management banking experienceand has had oversight responsibility for a number of departments within the bank including, Finance and Controls, Administration, Marketing, Treasury, Human Resources Management and the bank’s four business lines.
He has played a very critical role in the affairs of the bank, helping to transform its entire structure and operations and positioning it as one of the most efficient financial services providers in the country.
He was the Executive Director responsible for Central Management (Treasury, Financial Institutions, and Finance & Control) of the bank from January 2004 to March 2006. Larry was appointed Deputy Managing Director from March 2006 to March 2010. It will be recalled that Mr. Yirenkyi-Boafo was appointed Acting Managing Director of the bank on April 1, 2010 following the retirement of the then Managing Director.
Mr. Yirenkyi-Boafo is a product of the University of Ghana Business School, having graduated in 1989 with a first degree in B.Sc. Administration (Accounting Option). He is a Chartered Accountant and also holds an MBA in International Banking and Finance from the Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham, UK. He is a member of ICA (Gh) and also an alumnus of INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.
He is married with three children and loves reading and travelling.
