Small to large scale enterprises in Ghana can apply business intelligence to efficiently manage their performance to generate business value.
Business Intelligence (BI) has become the term used to acquire, analyze and report on data relevant to business decision making and performance management.
It involves the use of processes, metrics and technologies as well as methods and techniques used for monitoring, measuring and managing business performance.
UK-based Business Intelligence Consultant, Stephen Opoku Ampofo observes a limited application of business intelligence in Ghanaian enterprises.
This he attributes to the dependence on manual processing of data, which according to him makes it difficult to acquire and apply the requisite skill sets.
Mr. Opoku Ampofo has been providing insight into how organizations can horn in on information they require to make decisions that drives higher business performance at a seminar organized by the KNUST School of Business.
He told Luv Fm that Business Intelligence can be applied in all business enterprises if the skill sets are put right, stating that “even the market women in a shop at Makola can apply BI. It’s about decision making and having the right information”.
Mr. Opoku-Ampofo is supporting the KNUST School of Business in training Business Intelligence Specialists.
