Ms Abla Fiadjoe, Director of General Services of the Volta River Authority (VRA), has said that, the authority is determined to implement projects outlined in its Community Development Initiative Framework Document (CDIFD) for communities in its operational areas.
Ms Fiadjoe gave the assurance at a public forum organized by the VRA at Aboadze on Tuesday.
The forum was used as a platform for members of communities in the catchment area of VRA to express their concerns and developmental needs and to enable the VRA to explain its operations to the people.
Ms Fiadjoe reiterated the VRA's commitment to assist communities in the areas of education through scholarships, road construction, youth development training and cultural activities, to ensure accelerated development.
She said the VRA would collaborate with the Shama District Assembly in providing the pressing needs of the people in its operational areas.
Ms Fiadjoe said that the VRA would deepen its community relations through dialogue, based on mutual understanding.
To this end, the VRA would meet with the residents of Aboadze twice a year to acquaint itself with the concerns of the people, she said
The Chief of Aboadze, Nana Kobina Atom III, appealed to the VRA to build an ultra modern technical school for the community to enable the youth in the area to acquire technical training to make them employable.
He also appealed to the VRA to refurbish the public places of convenience and to tar the principal streets of the town.
