Real estate developer, Comet Properties is expected to launch its Initial Public Offer next month. The proposed date is December 28.
The company intends to raise just under 62 million Ghana cedis through the sale of 61.8 million shares at 1 Ghana cedi per share.
The company got the approval to list last month from market regulator, the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The IPO was originally scheduled for this month. But Comet’s Executive Chairman, Nana Odeneho Kyeremanteng told Joy Business they want the investing public all over the country to be part owners of the business.
He said too many people in the country were keeping their money to themselves believing it is safe do so.
But he said Ghanains should rather put their money in the real estates, promising to grow their money.
With the new date, Comet should possibly list on the exchange by next year instead of this year.
If the listing materializes, Comet Properties will be the first real estate firm to list on the Accra bourse.
