Mobile operator, Zain will today formally rebrand as Airtel. The rebranding is expected to complete the takeover of Zain’s Africa operations by the Indian telecoms giant Bharti Airtel.
The change-over is expected to take place simultaneously in several other countries where Bharti is starting operations.
Joy Business has learnt that the new owners are planning to introduce innovations and products that will challenge some industry practices.
The rebranding is however likely to result in some brand identity clashes as Airtel has brand colors and a tag line similar to rival operators on the market.
