President John Evans Atta Mills has appointed with immediate effect, Major-General Carl Modey as Acting Commissioner of Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS).
The President has also appointed Mr. Samuel Akwasi Yenkyira as Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) (Operations), whilst Mr. E.R.K. Lanyon has been posted to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) as Advisor to the Commissioner-General. All the appointments are also with immediate effect.
A statement issued by the Secretary to the President, Mr. J.K. Bebaako-Mensah, said Major-General Modey was until this appointment the Deputy Force Commander and Chief Military Observer with the United Nations Mission in Liberia.
He has held several other important Staff and Command positions in and outside Ghana, including Commanding Officer of 48 Engineer Regiment, Teshie, Accra, and Brigade Commander with the United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He is a Graduate Member of the Ghana Chartered Institute of Administration and Management.
