SG-SSB will be opening new branch outlets across the country in 2011 to make provision of its products and services, especially MoneyGram service, more convenient to its customers.Mr. William Odoi, Northern Sector Area Manager of the bank, says the money transfer business is essential to the SG-SSB in shoring up its foreign currency funds. He says the bank’s expansion drive is therefore important to make remittance easily accessible to customers.Mr. Odoi spoke to Luv Fm in Kumasi at a lucky dip draw in an SG-SSB exclusive MoneyGram ‘Afehyia Pa’ promotion.Customers who receive their remittance through SG-SSB get the opportunity to win instant prizes like polo shirts, base ball caps and shopping bags. Five customers from Bolga, Wa and Kumasi were rewarded in the Kumasi draw.A final draw to be held later in the month will reward customers with cash and other household items, including refrigerators, gas cookers, cooking utensils and other consolation prizes.Mr. Odoi says the bank will continue to provide its MoneyGram and other customer’s quality and dedicated service at all its outlets. He observed an improvement in the rate of remittance, after the global financial crisis which resulted in the decline of funds transfer.SG-SSB was the first bank to introduce MoneyGram service in Ghana.Story by Kofi Adu Domfeh/Luv Fm/Ghana
